Marking an Applicant as Hired and Starting the Onboarding Process

Ready to make it official? Once you've found your next great hire, the Mark as Hired button in PrismHR Hiring makes it easy to kick off the onboarding process -- pulling key details from the applicant's profile straight into PrismHR so you are not starting from scratch.


Step 1: Open the Applicant's Profile

In PrismHR Hiring, locate your applicant and click the View Applicant button to open their profile.


Step 2: Click "Mark as Hired"

Once the Application Viewer opens, click the Mark as Hired button.


Step 3: Set the Hire Date and Start Date

  • Enter the applicant's Hire Date and Start Date.
  • Click Save.

Good to know: You can edit the Hire Date later in PrismHR if needed -- no pressure to get it perfect right now.


Step 4: Navigate to New Hire in PrismHR

In your PrismHR account:

  • Go to HR in the main navigation.
  • Click on New Hire.



Step 5: Access the Candidates List

  • In the top-right corner of the New Hire page, click the hamburger menu (those three stacked lines -- yes, named after a sandwich).
  • Select Candidates from the menu.


Step 6: Select Your Candidate

Click on the row that contains the candidate you are hiring to open their record.


Step 7: Complete the New Hire Form

The good news? A lot of the work is already done. The applicant's information will be pre-populated in the New Hire form, pulled directly from their profile in Hiring.

  • Review the pre-filled fields.
  • Complete any remaining required fields.
  • Click Save.

And just like that, your new hire is in the system and ready to get started. Now comes the fun part -- onboarding, paperwork, and maybe even a welcome gift to make them feel like the great choice they are.
