When applicants submit their job applications through the system, they can upload files like résumés, cover letters, and portfolios. Here’s what you need to know about file size limits:

  • Maximum file size per attachment: 20MB
  • No limit on the total number of attachments – Applicants can upload multiple files as long as each one stays under 20MB.

This should accommodate most standard résumés and documents, but occasionally, applicants may run into size issues—especially with high-resolution images or detailed portfolios.

What If an Applicant’s File Is Too Large?

If an applicant reaches out because they can’t upload a file, here are some quick troubleshooting tips you can share:

  1. Compress the file – Many online tools can reduce the size of PDFs and images.
  2. Convert to a different format – Suggest converting high-resolution images (like TIFFs) to PDFs or JPEGs to shrink file sizes.
  3. Zip the files – This is a simple way to compress multiple documents into one manageable package.
  4. Use a file-sharing service – If the file is still too large, applicants can upload it to Dropbox, Google Drive, or WeTransfer and share a link instead.

Want to Make It Easier for Applicants to Share Large Files?

If you anticipate applicants needing to submit large portfolios or other oversized documents, consider adding a file-sharing link field to your application form! With our Form Builder feature, you can create a custom field where applicants can paste a link to their Dropbox, Google Drive, or other file-sharing service.

To do this:

  1. Edit your Job and go to the Form Builder section and Customize Your Form.

  2. Add a short text field labeled something like “Portfolio Link” or “Additional Documents.”

  3. Save and update your application form.
  4. Applicants will now see a link field as an option on your job.

This way, applicants can still provide important files without worrying about size limits!
